Saturday, September 12th, 0 miles and 0 accumulated vertical feet up. Lots of eating and resting
Katie and Ryan and I headed out Saturday morning to get my laundry done and find a breakfast spot. No excitement but we got both tasks completed and lots of great conversations. It felt great to travel in their rental car to a street art festival in Frisco. We then roamed the town. They have a well presented history museum I enjoyed visiting.
Next stop was REI for some freeze dried meals. The clerk checking me out recognized my 513 area code as Cincinnati and a conversation convened about who he knew and what part of town he was from, well he graduated from Elder and grew up on Tripplecrown Dr. we were neighbors!!!
Later we drove over to Keystone for a look over, lots of mountain biking…
Over to the Sapphire Point Overlook, interesting loop trail over looking Dillon Reservoir (the water level is very low). There was a wedding getting ready for a kickoff at one of the overlooks. Then off to the Dam Brewery for a lunch and beer.
Since we were invited to a neighborhood Oktoberfest party at John’s friends (Don and Jean) we felt compelled to pick up something at the grocery & and I needed a few things for the trip, off to Kroger (City Market out here).
Oktoberfest was fun!

How great it is to have family members visit on both ZERO days. Today my youngest brother Jeff drove over from Evergreen Colorado and we spent the day together. It’s wonderful to catch up on Jeff’s life…. No pictures for today and really no serious highlights. We drove part of tomorrow’s GDMBR up to Boreas Pass, he has a friend who used to live near it and so he was curious and I thought it would be a good idea for me to know what I’m going to be up against tomorrow. Had lunch in South Park CO and returned to Silverthorne to “chill” & plan our biking for tomorrow. Jeff brought his bike and plans to ride out to Breckenridge with us tomorrow morning. We had just enough time left in the day to pack my bags and get a self cooked steak dinner at the Mint Steakhouse.
